Are you using the same thread in both the bobbin and on top. you may have just hit a bad patch in the thread, try pulling a long piece out and then rethread. see if your tension is to tight on the bobbin or up top, and finally change your needle because if it has a burr on it, it will break the thread as well. good luck
Is the thread fraying? If so, there is an issue perhaps with the needle. There could be a burr, it could be the incorrect size for the thread you are using, the fabric may be incompatible with the needle & thread, or the needle itself could be defective. If the thread is actually breaking, then it could be misthreaded or the tension is too tight.
Try changing needles and then changing thread. AVOID old or bargain bin threads.
