Hi, I have a high temperature problem. Its about 72 degrees (celsius) in idle and eg durring gameplay it jumps right to about 90 degrees and i get a high temperature warning when it hits about a 100 or so... The thing is the card does not feel that hot by hand, i wonder if this could be a faulty temperature indication? and how to deal with this? thanks

Only one way to find out. Download this application called speedfan and monitor the temperature. If even that indicates a high temperature, we will deal with it

Im gona try some standard cooldown steps now like add a fan or two, change the thermal paste etc. Im sure i can get rid of some degrees. OK, thanks for your help
Ok. Good luck!
If you are not overclocking it then it could well be a faulty temp sensor. As that is at processor level you won't be able to fix it. It also depends on what prog you are using to detect the temp.
You would be able to feel it if it were at 100deg c. That's boiling point!
If you can get hold of some copper foil which is thin enough to cut with scissors yet firm enough to hold it's shape then do so. Cut it to fit between the fan and GPU and long enogh to bend over about a 1/4 of the fan once fitted. (thermal paste both sides) This will greatly help with heat dissapation.
thanks for the tip
You might be reading the Temperature right. Your ATI RADEON can tolerate a temeperature of 90-100 degree Celsius. Its better if you maintain the temperature of ATI lower. Any part in the CPU functions better at relatively lower temperatures. It would be a problem as your Graphic Card would burn out and work no more if the temperature goes a bit high. To pull the heat down, Make sure your CPU is free from DUST. Ensure that the Heat Sinks on the GPU are properly placed so that they absorb heat quickly. Get better and more HEAT SINKS if necessary. Get an additional FAN or a better FAN to maintain optimal temperate. Don't forget to rate the solution.
Then there is no point in declaring that you dont feel the heat when you actually dont touch it. The temperature readings are right. Get an additional fan or Gels to keep your GPU in good temperatures.
well to feel the GPU temperature dirrectly i would have to remove the cooler and if the temperature indication is correct the GPU would explode
