Hi, I have a Kenmore model 106 side by side refrigerator. It is not making ice cubes but a lot of ice formed down the freezer wall to bottom. The unit goes through the motion of making ice. Thanks
It sounds like your icemaker water supply line is frozen...........preventing the water from getting into the ice cube forming area but when the inlet valve opens the water has to go somewhere so the line has come off where it meets the inlet valve.
if you have another place to put your food for a couple days you could unplug the appliance and let it defrost. then reconnect the tube to the water inlet valve.
you might also try to defrost the ice and the icemaker with a hair blow dryer but that will be alot more work.
Very first thing, check underneath to see if the condenser coil is clean and free of dust and lint. Then, make sure the air duct opening in the fridge is not jammed up with stuff from the fridge, the air must be free to circulate. The defrost cycle may not be working to defrost automatically, but do the first checks and we'll go from there...
