Hi i have a vauxhall corsa 1.2 twinport 06 plate! I have just checked the oil and inside the filler cap was a light creamy gunge does this mean my head gasket has gone or just condensation as the car is running perfectly???
I'm afraid this means your head gasket has gone. What you are seeing is emulsified oil (Oil and water that have been whipped up together by the engine to create an emulsion). There is only one cause for this: Water leaking into the oil from the cooling system. ...And there's only one way this can happen, which is a breach between an oil way and a water way. 99% likely this is a head gasket failing, with a small chance that you have a cracked head.
It's not a huge job for a "Local Mechanic" rather than a main dealer to undertake, but without action it will get worse and worse.
