Hi. I have the ademco vista 20P panel. I want to be able to get notifications on my smartphone when the alarm is tripped.Is the GSMX what I need do this? I also want to use power from the panel for the GSMX since there isnt another powersource avail. I installed the system myself so i will be doing the programing. Calling honeywell wasnt much help. Thanks

You will need to go through a alarm net dealer for your gsmx to work.
Check out http://www.myvirtualmonitoring.com. They sell an IP alarm transmitter that will send you notifications for alarm events. The transmitter includes a free iphone and android application that lets you arm and disarm your alarm panel remotely, as well as see an event log. Very good price, better than the price of a GSMX, and more features.
