Hi, i just bought a gnx-3 guitar processor and when setting up, i could only hear a loud hum and no guitar sounds at all, it's almost the sound of when you don't plug the guitar or amp in properly but everything seems to be hooked up properly. Can you help? thanks

Set the volume to a level that you can tolerate. You may want to turn off the amp between each of these steps. Unplug the cable from the amp; if the hum does not go away you have problems with the amp. If it does then plug the cable into the amp and short the end that plugs into the instrument. If the hum goes away it is the pick system in the instrument, if not you have a bad cable.
Good Luck
