Hi i recently purchased a 2004 subaru legacy station wagon. There is a weird smell coming out of t he front hood. it steams out and there is no leakage anywhere. The smells is like burning food

Clean the egr valve check any oil leak coming out from valve covers and be careful subaru suffer a lot from head gasket
You may have a pinhole leak in a hose so small that it evaporates & steams when it hits the engine that you never see a leak, keep an eye on your coolant level. You should have your coolant system pressure checked.
