Hi, I was watching a movie of my Pininfarina 320GB hard drive and suddenly the movie froze and the hard drive started to make weird noises. I tried resetting it and plugging it back in but it still makes weird noises and the PC cannot detect it. Whats wrong? Is the needle broken?

Needle? There is no needle.
Your Hard drive just died. It sounds like the bearings just gave out or something else happened to the Platen.
When it makes noises it means something is very very wrong.
I hope you backed up your hard drive. If you didn't you just cost yourself anywhere from $100.00 to $1000.00 for professional data recovery.
Time to buy another hard drive and reinstall your operating system.
