Hi i,ve got some tapes to convert to mp3.When i play the tapes,the sound is distorted,i turn down the rec level and vol but still sounds awful.Played the tapes on a portable tape recorder and they,re fine.Read the manual about closing programmes,does that include my norton software.I am running on windows vista. thankyou

I don't own and am not familiar with this device but my advice would be to turn all progs off. As long as you are not on the internet and you have no media connected then turning the anti virus off is safe as your computer is in a stable condition. I would also try using a different usb slot if you have that option as the distorted sound you are describing may be coming from interference with your usb port or cable.
