Hi, just connected a Blu Ray player to my sytem. I connected the player via HDMI direct to the TV and the audio output direct into Optical 2 on the Denon. Problem is that there is no sound. Also connected my Dish Network Sat receiver to Opt 1 on the Denon and no sound either. How can I get them to work? Is there a setting or something? Status says Analog. Thank you
We can't make assumptions about proper and complete setup if you don't explicitly mention the steps involved, so... did you assign and select the digital inputs properly?
BTW: I concur with your decision to send the video directly to the TV from the BD even though Denon and others expect it to make a hop through the receiver first.
Get into your BD and find its audio out setup. Make sure its settings for digital audio output bit rates, speaker presence, type, size, distance and bass-handling are set correctly.
thanks, I'll double check the BD. Strange though that the Dish receiver doesn't produce sounds either! Yes, I get sound from FM, 2nd DVD/CD and MP3.thanks, I'll double check the BD. Strange though that the Dish receiver doesn't produce sounds either! Yes, I get sound from FM, 2nd DVD/CD and MP3.
Well, that proves our failure is in the digital domain and EXT IN, MUTE, Tape are NOT the problem.
Don't look directly into the fibre. Shine it onto a piece of paper.Well, that proves our failure is in the digital domain and EXT IN, MUTE, Tape are NOT the problem. Don't look directly into the fibre. Shine it onto a piece of paper.
