Hm, I'm wondering if the selector dial is partially seized from old oil which occurs frequently in these older mechanical machines. Below is the method I've used to free-up seized machines using Tri-Flow Synthetic Lube, heat, elbow grease, and lots of patience. BUT, you will have a well operating machine if there are no broken parts to be replaced.
