Hi, this is a common problem and the most likely cause is going to be the oxygen sensor (or lambda sensor for its proper name)
The reason it points to this being the fault is that when the engine is cold the oxygen sensor isnt working, it only starts working when the engine reaches normal running temp, and as this is when your getting the problem thats why it points to this being the fault. Once the sensor has cooled back down and is then no longer working you car will then run perfect so getting this part changed will solve your problem.
Your oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust either before or just after the catalytic converter if you have a look at your exhaust it will look like a small silver thing poking out of the exhaust pipe with two wires going to it, now im not sure if yours is before or just after the cat either way you should find it with no problems.
They are not cheap to buy in uk they would cost about 85 pound so $155 if your in USA, changing this part will solve your problem and then you should find you will have no more prolems.
The fault can only point towards this being at fault as no other part on the car works by the engine temp so as your car runs fine from cold but plays up when at temp after cooling it should run perfect so it can only be the oxygen sensor at fault.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance.
Ps the oxygen sensor is screwed into the exhaust so if your doing the work yourself make sure you have a good fitting open spanner as they vary in size and might not be a metric size as some oxygen sensor have their own tool for removing them but it is exactly like a open spanner so using one of these should be able to remove the oxygen sensor for you ok
