I would look at the power supply, if you follow the mains lead wires it will go straight to the power supply . I would look for swollen capacitors , they will look a bit like small batteries. and the silver top should be flat (not domed) compare these components to each other if any are domed you should spot them easilly. Now what, this is the hard part, they nead replacing, you need to have used a soldering iron to remove these components. I had this fault in a friends tv, The components are quite cheap and availably on the internet but not a job for the novice, hope this helps pete

Hi Benedict , I have the exact same problem , although I havnt had chance to mend mine, after lots of forum pages , people are telling me it basically the same common fault that laptops get ., it's either the backlight ( looks like a thin cold cathode tube ) or the boad they plug into ...
