Hi my name is Bryan. I have a 2002 Acura TL, V6, Automatic with 158000 miles on it. Recently my Driver side floorboard gets super hot after couple minutes of driving. Engine temp gage reads normal and car starts + runs fine. All the fluids have been checked and rechecked. No problems with low fluids or burning engine oil. Engine light does not come on. Car starts, idles, and runs normal. *Little sluggish when accelerating onto freeway. Feels like exhaust is plugged up maybe. Muffler is in good condition. Plugged Catalytic converter? ...I don't know? Please help! Thanks
Have you noticed a difference in exhaust noise? You could have an exhaust leak below the floor causing it to heat up. Usually, you would expect a trouble code if there was a problem with the catalytic converter plugging, but I suppose it's still possible.Have you noticed a difference in exhaust noise? It sounds like the catalytic converter is clogging up also if your car is running to rich the converter will over heat.
