Hi, my pro 14n has started showing faint lines and digital noise even at ISO 80, with a proper exposure, and It makes no difference when noise reduction is on or off. Is there a way to fix this? It has the 5.4.1. firmware
Noise in the lower ISO's for the Kodak DCS 14n Digital Camera is a contentious issue and a very common problem. Some of the most practical advice I've seen for getting the best results is to only shoot in RAW, & to expose for the shadows and pull exposure back in post if necessary.
For more reading on this camera, you might look at this thread, or Thom Hogan's review.
Hi, Your camera must be experiencing these symptoms due to a faulty CCD, and not due to other problems. Just tap on the side of the camera at times the horizontal lines will disappear. The sensor is not able to perform its function properly . You need to contact service people to replace the CCD imager in your camera .
