Hi, Replacing my 256mb ram (1 slot) with 1Gb (2x512). The computer would not boot. Removing 1x512 memory the computer works fine. I put my old 256Mb back with the 512 Mb and the system only reported 256Mb. Both 512's work on their own. Hope you have a simple solution. Thanks R.W

Is the speed of the RAM the same mixing PC 133 and PC100 ram can cause problems working together. Also it sounds as if your board will only upgrade to a maximum of 512 MB total.
