My front load creda, does wash or spin, it will drain. A tech came out and told me I needed a Circuit board because the spin cycle was not recognizing the command. he said the part would cost about 3 or 4 hundred bucks. No thanks, cheaper to buy another

Even if the valve were faulty, it would not stop the washer from spinning.
You can double check this, by selecting spin only, if it does not spin then
I would recommend that you locate and clean the filter, and also check the carbon brushes in the motor, as both these factors have a bearing on it performing correctly.
