Hitachi 55FX48B 55 in. loss of power
My Hitachi 55 in. made a pop sound and all loss of power... Took the lower back panel off unplugged the unit for 30 seconds, plugged back in and several led lights come on 2 seconds another led lights up for about 1 second.. at this time the front of the tv light comes on... then all led lights except one led light that just has a slow flash... I checked obvious fuse attached to circuit board and is good. I am under the impression that the Transformer FBT2436493A is bad... Do you think that is accurate and any idea where I can buy one.. I really love this tv. and would hate to get rid of it... I am willing to spend up to 500.00 for this unit, beats buying a new one.. Any info. that you can give me is MUCH appr. Thanks Sal

Only a shorted high voltage circuit will cause this issue, u will find the cost of repair will be prohibitive.
Click here to download a copy of the service manual, get all the 11 parts and use winrar to open the files and acrobat reader to open the PDF file. Once you have the complete service manual go to page number 31 to 38 for troubleshooting. Pay attention on how the LEDs light up and follow the instructions from the service manual.
In my opinion you should call tv repair person to check tv and ask an estimate. Its not such job to do it yourself unless you have proper knowledge of tv repair, service manual and sufficient tools to carry out repair.
Regards,
The number of flashes could indicate an error code.
There are many things that may have gone wrong.
the first to check is the lamp as it will make a pop if it goes
the lamp is a big bulb which won't be hard to find and might have burnt out. They need replacing over time
Try first unplugging power cord for ten minutes, it looks more like your power unit has gone.
I cannot find your model number, If it is an LDP, as listed in title can also be the crt, in this case the part will be expensive.
If you know how to work on tvs, you should unplug it and take it apart.
If you smell burnt on some area you should inspect and test components in the area.
A short in any of the circuits will cause the same effect.
Things to check : power board, even if power board fault generally cause no power at all this should be inspected.
Bulb, if it is an LDP check bulb.
Convergence board and convergence ICs, test the STK ICs by checking for continuity pico fuse at their base.
High voltage board powering the lamp, this must also be tested.
You will also need the service repair manual to do the job.
Here you can find all parts for your TV, and the service manual telling you how to proceed, tester at hand to troubleshoot the fault and replace defective part.
