Many Hitachi projectors use 3LCD technology which supposedly makes colors more realistic. 3LCD means that the projected light must pass through 3 seperate LCD screens. Each screen has one color but when mixed, they form a nice picture. I would guess that one or more of the LCD screens have gone bad. That is a hardware problem that I would recommend talking to the manufacturer about.
It depends for how many hours projectior has been used. LCD structure projectors normaly get like more yellow or lime (like green) screen over time, its color decay effect usuall for LCD projectors. Anyway, looks like its a problem of LCD panel. LCD panel is periodacaly changable part - go to your retailer and ask for service. By the way, "3LCD" and "LCD" - both are the same technologies, both uses 3 LCD panels of different colors, "3LCD" is just patended name for marketing issues.
