Report "Home doorbell (hardwire) problem!! a previous owner of my home did something to the front door outter frame to conceal--and for all intents and purposes eliminate--the doorbell pushbutton. but inside our house in the 1st flr kitchen area the (other end of the) doorbell wires stick out of the wall, connected to nothing. i can attach a new electric doorbell to them easily enough, but i've searched and there's no trace of where the pushbutton once was at the front door. does anybody know some way i can force the (former) pushbutton location to reveal itself? tracing the wires is useless, it's an old house and all wiring is well-buried inside the walls. but me and the mrs. still want a regular (working) doorbell!"
