Honeywell propane relay won't start
This is for my boiler.
The relay would not kick in, though there was a buzzing noise. So I slapped the relay a little and nothing happened. I turned the dial from "on" to "pilot" and the pilot flame went out. I cannot get the pilot flame to come back on, now.
With the dial set to "pilot" I can push in the red button and light the pilot. When I let go of the red button the pilot goes out. I cannot turn the dial to "on" with the button pushed in, and so cannot get the pilot to stay on without holding in the button.
When the thermostat is up high, so the boiler wants to boil, I can hear buzzing. I can slap the relay a little and hear clicking. However, with the pilot out, it obviously will not kick in.
Do I need to replace the relay? Should I take it off and clean it or look for burn spots?

For the pilot you have to hold the red button down for about a minute or two while it is lit, then turning it to on. If you tried this and it still wont stay lit then you can try replacing the thermocouple. For the relay the best way to tell is take voltage reading to see if the coil is getting voltage across it.relays are usually inexpensive, and easy to install.Just be sure to turn the power off befor touching the wires, and mark them so you know which wire goes to what terminal.
