Hood Light Problem
The JV936DSS hood is 3 yrs old. The both lights just stopped working. I pulled both bulbs and they both look good. When putting the bulbs back in or wiggle the fixture, they lights flicker. I checked all the electral connections and they are tight and the lights don't fliker if I wiggle the wires.
I was thinking that the electrical transformer or the switch for the halogens might be bad. If so, where can I get replacement parts?

This is a light socket problem, and it has plagued hoods for years simply because grease builds up there and is acidic. One fix is to disconnect the power and wash the socket with alcohol, then buff with steel wool being careful to leave no steel wool behind. After cleaning you will need to re-tension the little aluminum/brass button at the bottom of the socket by placing a screwdriver under it and gently lifting it about 30 degrees upwards. Replace the bulbs with ONLY the stated wattage bulbs indicated on the panel.
