Hooking my Neo4 mobo back up
I am attempting to re-wire my mobo because I got a new one and didn't realize it wasn't compatible with my old ram until it was too late. Needless to say I am trying to restore things back to the way they were. I have everything hooked up except a few last wires. These are:
Reset SW (Two wires: Blue and White)
Power SW (Two wires: Orange and White)
H.D.D. LED (Two wires: Red and White)
+P LED (Single Green Wire)
-P LED (Single White Wire)
I found the online version of the manual, but the way it describes the pins doesn't match up with what I see. It gives things such as Power SW P (positive I'm assuming) and Power SW N, but the two wires are joined into one 2 pin connection. I don't know which is positive and which is negative. Same for the Reset SW and HDD LED.
I also have an odd little piece I disconnected and can't remember where it goes. It looks like a 4 pin connection, but with wires only in the 2 outside slots. On the end of the piece is a black cylinder where the wires meet up.

Hi weeman105, case wire colors do vary from case to case. The most common case wire colors for negative are "white & black". All other colors like blue, green, red orange are most commonly "positive". The four pin connector with only the ends with wires is the internal speaker. Most boards use one set of pins where you hook everything up. The MSI K8N Neo4-F uses two separate motherboard pins, Front Panel Connectors: JFP1 & JFP2 as shown on the top page 2-19. Now that you know what color is positive & which is negative things should work out just fine.
Downloaded manual from MSI link: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloadfile&dno=4117&type=manual
If you run into any other troubles, just post & we'll go from there.
Good luck weeman105!
