Hoover wind tunnel u6445-900. my vacuum seems to have super suction on carpet. You have to DRAG the vacuum and PUSH it with great force to get it to move with the self propelled switch engaged
Changing the carpet height selector makes no difference. Disconnecting the hose from the base, it moves easily with the self propelled mode on (no suction though). It moves very easily on hardwood floors with the self propelled mode on. It moves easily on carpet with the selector on the base set to hardwood floors (in self propelled mode). What happened? The self propelled mode seems to work well on hard floors and with the floor surface switch on hard floors even on carpet. What happened?

It's an issue that the front roller isn't engaged. there's usually a belt connected to the roller on one side of it. That belt is connected to the same motor that develops the suction. You have to find that area and either pull the belt over the motor and/or the brush. Close it back up and turn it on again.
