Hotpoint washer wouldnt spin or drain. Took apart cleaned out the cabinet and it will spin now but when it does below the motor got real hot. I noticed the impeller on the pump wasnt moving and the water would not drain. I have the pump out but cant find a clog. and water flows freely through the pump with gravity

Is the impeller frozen? You need it working to move the water.
No is spins when you do it manually. I did OHM it out with my VOM and it doesn't tone out so there must be an open. Only concern i have now is the pulley getting hot when the tub was spinning but I will trouble shoot that when I get the new pump installed. Thanks for the response!
The pump's shaft is seizing. I've taken mine apart once and lubed it with silicone grease and expect to have to do this every several years.
