If you can disassemble the vacuum and get to where the wire goes into the machine, you can probably repair this. Once you locate the wire inside the machine, you either have to disconnect the wires from the switch at the terminals or if there is a place where there is room you may be able to use wire nuts to splice the wires together. Strip the cord coming into the machine, remove about 1/2 inch of insulation from all wires and connect matching colors. Use normal electrical cautions.
