I think there is a requirement to change the oil in a 4-cycle engine- hand held or otherwise. I have a 4-stroke Craftsman leaf blower- and it has an oil sump. I think if you left the oil sump empty, added oil to the gas, your engine would soon go plink-plonk, if you could even get it to run. The combustion chamber on a 4-stroke is for gasoline combustion, where a 2-stroke draws some of the oil that does not vaporize as easily as gasoline for lubrication of the crankshaft, and other critical moving parts- but does not lubricate as well as a 4-cycle, and therefore parts will wear faster. Bad advise is worse than no advise at all!I think there is a requirement to change the oil in a 4-cycle engine- hand held or otherwise. If this is a hand held machine. It doesn't require engine oil changing.!
Although its a 4 cycle engine. its basically a 2 stroke engine with valves. It runs on the same fuel/ oil mix as a normal 2stroke engine. 50:1
