How do I check a battery operated mower? It stopped working
WORX wg788- it stopped working after 5 years of reliable use. There was a plastic/burning smell, and instead of starting up at full speed as always, it slowly revved up a couple of spins and then it started. The battery was fully charged, blade turned freely, I took the battery connection apart to check for loose wires-nothing, but haven't removed the cover to check the motor. What next?

Have a close look at the blade. It may have jammed up with a stone or stick or something and melted the inside mounting. The blade may be spinning on the shaft and not actually be turning by the motor now.
