How do I connect a cd player to both a tv and an audio amplifier so Ican play either Cd's or DVDs?

I have an NAD c372 amplifier and want to connect a cd / dvd player to both the amp and the TV so I can play cd's through he amp and into the speakers and play a dvd movie so the movie shows on the tv and I hear the sound from the tv.. I' can't figure it out.
