Vague question but I'll try to answer.. the surfboard is a cable modem, so you need a network cable that would plug into your network jack on your PC. if you want more than 1 PC to work, you then need to put a router, wired/wireless between your computer and the modem. A network switch will not allow this to work without first having the router in place.from there you can install multiple switch and computers.
If you mean connect as in configure.. generally, hook up the network cable and use your internet browser to goto http://192.168.1.1 (or what ever your computers Default gateway is) this is typically your gateway address for the router, but the modem will have a similar address usually.
