How do I connect the printer with my mac computer?
I have a wire to connect the printer to my computer, so it doesn't need to be wireless. But when I tried to install the printer on my computer via the option on system preferences, it asked for the software, and I'm not sure what that is.

You need to download the appropriate drivers on your Mac to allow it to understand how to talk to your printer. This is described at the HP website:
