How do I disassemble a Hoover FloorMate deluxe to install the hose -lower duct assembly?
Need to install part FH40160 #440004817 in a Floormate Deluxe. How do you take cleaner apart to install the part? It is the hose lower duct assembly. I cannot find any obvious way to either remove the top cover or the bottom plate. I have removed the lower skid plate but thats it.

The key is removing the gray top cover plate and then it is easy enough to figure out from there. Underneath on the black plate you put the brush into the furthest holes there are screws that are holding the front of the gray top plate. Remove the other black plate like a trapezoid shape on the bottom just by pulling down on the widest part. After removing that you will see four more screws in the clear part hidden deep in holes. Two are just in front of the wheels and then another two about an inch away going towards the brush part. From then it is just a matter of separating the body to be able to remove the part and replace.
