If Donna's method didn't work you can try this. Just an additional thing.
First of all you have to Open your Browser
Type http://192.168.0.1 (or use the NetBIOS name http://dlinkrouter)
In the router setup page click on wireless settings then click on Wireless Security. It has to be there. Check under the Advanced Tab if its not there. You will be able to Enable/Disable WPA/WPA2 with PSK. Check whether you can see it there (the Key).
If it allows you to re configure you have to go through the Setup partially again (look below). If it doesn't allow and you can't remember the key, you have to Reset the Router and go through the Full Setup.
Here is how:
Under the Wireless settings Wizard, Click on "Launch Wireless Security Setup Wizard".
Click "Next".
Enter the SSID which is the Name of your Wireless Network (Case Sensitive).
Choose the Level of Security. Click "Next".
If you have chosen "Best" or "Better", enter a key which is 8-63 long. If you selected "Good", enter 13 Characters or 26 HEX Digits. Please Write it down.
Click Next. If you have chosen "Best" or "Better" you will be shown the key in the next Window.
If you plan to use WPA-PSK encryption, you can configure that as well.
Next to Security Mode, select WPA-Personal.
Next to WPA Mode, select Auto, WPA2 Only, or WPA Only. Use Auto if you have wireless clients using both WPA and WPA2.
Next to Group Key Update Interval, enter the amount of time before the group key used for broadcast and multicast >Next to Pre-Shared Key, enter a key (passphrase). The key is entered as a pass-phrase in ASCII format at both ends of the wireless connection. The pass-phrase must be between 8-63 characters.
Click Save Settings to save your settings. If you are configuring the router with a wireless adapter, you will lose connectivity until you enable WPA-PSK on your adapter and enter the same passphrase as you did on the router.
You can get it from a connected computer that has the code already set up in it...or you can reset the router/modem. Find the little tiny hole/button that you press with a paper clip or something small and reset it. It will then have factory settings ad the default password is usually admin or administrator. If not, ask manufacturer how to reset, and what the default passsword is. (or, it could have none...)
