How do I fit a spring to the grass chute deflector guard on my qualcast1200w electric rotary mower
The lid is flapping open and the grass is escaping through it. I have a spring but don't know how to fit it to keep the lid down. Thanks

The thing about springs is that they anchor at one or two places. If the chute guard is plastic, you might want to use your ingenuity to devise a way for the spring to attach to the chute and then anchor to the mower body. Pop rivets are great (and inexpensive) for this kind of retrofit. I recommend using a washer with the pop rivet in the plastic to keep it from pulling through with time and fatigue. Remember, need is the mother of invention....so start inventing a work around. I hope this helps :-)
