How do I fix a check engine light with Code P0505?
I've already replaced the IAC valve but the code came back after resetting it. It really does poorly on acceleration and dies at stops when the light is on. After replacing the throttle body with a used one, that had both sensors the car is working better. So either I had a defective new IAC sensor or when IAC goes bad the other sensor has to be replaced since they might be interconnected.

It's possibly the air passage the valve controls is dirty and clogged, or the wiring to the valve needs checked. 3 wires: one is a wire to the engine control module, #2 is a voltage-in wire, and #3 is a ground wire. With key on you should have voltage on #2. You could test the ground with a multi-meter, also.
Thanks for your response montehammons appreciate it.
Sounds good, then, clear motoring!
