How do I fix the beater bar attachment on my Oreck Canister Vacuum?
The main canister of the vacuum works fine, and I can still vacuum using the hose alone or with other non-powered attachments. The beater bar attachment has its own power switch, but will not turn on no matter what I do. Please help!!!

Well Anonymous, unless you have a continuity tester I'd say you will most likely need to take your machine to a vac repair shop. You need to determine if there is voltage going to the power nozzle portion through the hose and the wand. This is where the continuity tester comes in. If you have one and know how to use it, check the hose to make sure there's a clear path there for the juice to flow, if so, then check the outlet on the vacuum itself. If all is kosher at these two points then check the power nozzle itself. Somewhere along the line you will find an open circuit, that will be the problem that needs to be repaired or replaced. If you take it to a vac shop for repairs, they will do all this for you and then tell you what needs to be repaired and how much it will cost.
