I recently replaced what the parts list describes as the Hook Drive Gear on my Riccar 600FA sewing machine, but I'm not able to figure out how to get it "re-aligned" so that the needle doesn't hit the shuttle race cover, shuttle race holder and/or the shuttle hook (whichever it may be hitting; appears to me to be the shuttle hook). The hook drive gear that I replaced was split completely with approximately a 1/16" gap and it seems that - like a motor driven machine - the "timing" is off but I cannot figure out where the adjustments need to be made in order to "re-align" it. Can you help?
