Go to the applications folder and then utilities open Disk Utility in the left box select you firelite and then clcik on the erase tab to your right. You can then select how you are going to format the hard drive standard for using with Mac only machines is Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or if you want to use with both PC and Macs is MS-DOS (FAT). Then name your drive and click on erase. Hope this helps.
