By removing the top four screws on the lid (with the water tank removed) and looking inside the machine you will see three (3) thermostats. The two (2) thermostats on the top of the boiler do not reset. Leave those be. The 3rd thermostat which is mounted on the side of the boiler facing the front near the switches is the safety thermostat. If you look closely you will see that in-between the connectors is a small circular button. Carefully push this in with something long and narrow (not an object that will conduct electricity) and the thermostat will have been reset. If this does not work and the button does not press in, you will need to replace the safety thermostat.
