Depending what E-Mail appliction you are using there are subtle differences in the procedure. However, basically what you do is 1) Select write. (this may be an icon like a pencil). 2) Type in the address of recipient. (This may be in your address book). 3) Move cursor to the main area for your message and type message. 4) Click....send
