How do I type this exact equation into my calculator?
How do I type the = sign into my calculator such that it can solve for X in this equation: 49x^3-98x^2-36x+72=0 Solving for X is very time consuming without being able to type an equals sign into my calculator and I know already how to add variables. Thanks, much appreciated.

You should check your manual. The FX300MS has only three calculation modes: COMP (regular calculator), SD (standard deviation) and REG (statistical regression analysis). You cannot solve equations.
