How do I work out why the cruze control turns on but will not function at all, in my 2009 Isuzu dmax crew cab, and I can't get 4 low to engage either when the button on the dash is pressed
Took it to the Isuzu dealership in Cairns and they took $300 odd of me to tell me they were'nt sure and would have to replace the whole windscreen wiper control lever with the cruise controls on it as the first step in the elimination process at the cost of another $700, but it might not be that.

We dont know?
we cant do the tests.
but on our cars, (we are USA here) we scan it first
did you know , newer cars, the cruise is deactivated at the drop of a hat (lawsuits here endless, ask toyota that and the billions lost)
cases in point.
1: throttle controls acting up, (TBW throttle by wire)
cruise disabled.
and more.... cut.....
what you do first is:
check fuses, then scan it.
not scanning the PCM is really bad idea. inviting gue$$ing and wasted parts and endless grief.
why not scan it .????? ;repeat, SCAN IT.
buy , barrow , rent or any shop in town can scan this car.
why wait.?
and best is to scan when IT'S BROKEN.
do not try to diagnose a working car. or asks others to do that.
unless you say "drive it for a day to see it fail" or go broke fast.
we scan and drive at same time, (ask how"2man, or logger")
this gets the intermittent class failures..
there you go.....
id not pay $700 for cruise, not me... not ever.
the cruise on modern cars is free. it's just pure software.
this is true because the throttle already has a motor there.
and the PCM can do cruise for free. (software in the PCM)
see? (sure $5 switch added) not $700
the cruise also disables for bad brake light switch
and other errors, all reported by the PCM
not looking is the problem, working blind, a big problem.
