On the side of your xl2000 there is a small plate with a screw. Take the screw out and slide the plate towards the front of the vacuum. Now you can see the end of the brush and the shaft of the motor. I put it on the roller first and then you have to get the right leverage to stretch the belt over the motor shaft. Don't pinch your fingers. then slide the plate back into place and put the screw back. Make sure there isn't something stuck in the brush roller that caused the belt to break.
