Thank you kindly. I guess I should have been more specific. The pass. door is fine but the drivers creaks like mad. There are hinges top and bottom and nothing seems to penetrate them. There is also one of a different sort in the middle. At the body side there is a pin under the plastic that has a circlip on the bottom that came off easily and I greased the pin and holes and it quieted some. I can feel it vibrate when I move the door which leads me to believe most of the noise comes from it. I removed the two screws on the door side but could not get at the bar that goes into the door. I did not want to remove the door panel if I could help it because I always seem to wreck the fasteners. The two main hinges have rust colored grease around the pin and female hinges. I could not seem to get those pins out, there is some kind of retainer on them but are difficult to see even after cleaning as best I could...lots of dried up grease rust etc.Thank you kindly. I understand. In this case you need to purchase a can of spray penetrating oil. Something like P7 which will dissolve rust, lubricate, remove moisture, and is not harmful to paint and plastic. You will have to spray every single contact point. It will come with a plastic tube to insert into tiny spaces. You should not have to remove any parts to reach the culprit using the tube. Another good one is Kano Kroil which is fantastic. SP3 is also very good. There are many choices. Once you hit the right spot the noise will be gone. The center object you speak of stops the door from opening to far. Spray the underside and the top. Do not take the pins out of the hinges. You may need to clean as much of the lithium grease off the hinges as possible before spraying them. I am sure with one of these penetrating sprays you will solve this problem. I have had the same problem on some cars where you just think you are never going to stop the squeak, but keep at it and you will succeed. If it moves spray it.I understand.
