How do you read engine codes
How can someone read the engine codes without a ODPII reader. I heard that if you turn engine key 3 times on/off, the alarm will show up on display, this did not work for me.

Any scan tool , is best.
code reader are near useless, about equal to a trip to autozoned.
get a real scan tool and see it all, get one that can read
all factory Jeep codes.
i use an Innova 3160.
sure the key trick works but is not much help. and is hard to get to work its funky , in method and results. after all you are turnning it off, and that does clear some codes stored, like lost spark. i never use that. its only a toy.but is good in emergancies way afield or off road but i carry my tool , on trips. so...
