If you are talking about the cover on the engine of a 2.0 FSI engine, it just pulls off. but it is of a poor design (unlike everything else vw makes) in which you have to pull extremely hard to remove it. start on the right front corner and pull until it pops up. then do the right rear and so forth. if any of the rubber clips stay on the engine you have to remove them and install them on the cover. i suggest you apply some lube on the rubbers so it comes off better next time. and i would suggest you replace the air filter too. the air filter is inside of the cover. wierd i know.
