I guess you are talking about the belt in the Power Nozzle, right? (for the vacuum cleaner itself, has not belts in it...)
So-- if we are talking about the power nozzle: Lay the floor part of this nozzle on a bench or table (with newspapers underneath!!)
Usually there are 2 or 4 large head screws on that smooth metal floor plate-- Remove them, and this cover plate usually pivots forward, exposing the brush, the drive motor and the belt- Notice the height adjusting settings, for how far the brush goes into the carpet-- and determine if you want to use that same setting,-- or if the brush is worn, you may want to adjust the brush 'out' more, so that the bristles get into the carpet more?
Can you remove the brush?-- removing the end farthest from the belt, first? This allows the old belt to come off, Now slip the new one on-- notice the notches-- make sure the spacing of the notches in the belt matches the notches in the pulleys.-- Now can you insert the brush back in the bearing slots-- Belt end first?-- Dercide whether to use the same depth, or a deeper brush depth, and nestle everything back in to the retainers. Does the brush turn easily? -- a few drops of oil on the bearings won't hurt.. Be sure to clean all the strings and threads and hair that gets wound around the brush, while you have it all in the open.
You can test the installation when you are safely away from the moving parts-- does it turn freely now? Replace the cover plate, and tighten the screws-- remembering that they just need to be snug.
Let us know how this turns out-- and if we can help more.
