The h9rn relay is NOT Located in the TIPM dont waste time looking in there. I was told by dealer it is somewhere down under the TIOM but not directly under it buried someplace in the lower inner fender of the drivers side. However the horn itself I did find is located on the drivers side right up at the front corner, and is bolted on a bracket that attaches to the area close to the radiator and AC condensor,. With a small 10 mm nut can probably reach down in there to remove it, and then it has a locking single spaded wire, that you will remove using small flat blade screwdriver. I plan to run a test light to see if mine is the horn. Once in a while it tries to beep and when it did quit it kinda made a bad sqwaking so believe it is burnt out I guess and not the relay is bad.
No I found the horn at front corner of car, but it is not rusted. Actually this vehicle has only 53K miles on it. Anyhow certainly not the best location given many other factors. Oh well, typical of all modern vehicles I guess. I would guess replacement if quite costly also. Even a junkyard would be charging big bucks I suspect. No I found the horn at front corner of car, but it is not rusted. Actually this vehicle has only 53K miles on it. Yes but the picture is wrong. There is only 1 box. I just havent gotten ambition yet due to hot weather to remove and repair the TIPM. I suspect will find a couple of broken traces IF you can even take it apart. Mainly that it has a blown trace I think. The whole thing is a bit of a project starting with of course to remove the battery leads. Then to remove all the wonderful latches of the plugs on the bottom and then to get it apart. If like most things expect to see the blown traces and jumper them over to get it working again. Then a trip to Advanced Auto to borrow hopefully this time without the manager following me out to scan and reset the codes. So you mean to say even the TIPM is seriallized to the central computer? No junkyard swap will work. Is this true for all new cars? I know it is for Volxo but did not think that it needed to be done for cheaper cars. Kinda SUX you can no longer fix cars, without being a dealer.Yes but the picture is wrong. There is only 1 box. I just havent gotten ambition yet due to hot weather to remove and repair the TIPM. Fuse 23 blown? is car battery discharged? (other symptoms not stated ?) my guess is you can't see the horn, and the bolt?. but can't reach it? that it?
That is correct. the relay is buried deep inside the TIPM where I only go...and others ,not shy... im not so daft to replace a whole, TIPM for a bad relay or driver. for any horn... but you can.... it is your cash. MP(49) schematic. is clear. as day. well was before fixya blurred it. (full)
1: is horn ground rusty? (look, examine...) 2: does 12vdc reach horn , honking (a voltmeter tells you this) if #2 fails the PCM must be scanned to see why. a must. scan it NOW. B2336? B2338 (horn not grounded) b2371 is shorted horn like that?
if there is DTC that says the horn driver is bad, it is... end story. well, not doing the bad story. and swapping in new TIPM.' or reprogramming scrambled is dealer only fix.
