How many quarts of fluid in torque converter? 2006 Impala 3.9 LT
I drained the fluid from the transmission pan. I used 2 aluminum pans for the old fluid. The next morning I went to figure out how many quarts was drained by filling up an empty quart container from my last drain. I was going to fill up a couple of used clean plastic milk jugs.by marking on the outside each quart I put in. This way I would know how much to put back in. Unfortunately, somehow, one of the pans was knocked over. Now I have no accurate way of knowing how many quarts to put back in!? Need some precise help. Thanks a lot.

Neil, 7 to 7.4 Qts. when pan has been removed, 10 Qts when overhauled, converter also takes 3 to 3.5 Qts.
I would just keep checking fluid level after 6 Qts. were added as a per caution, in case tranny was not completely drained.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Neil, If you now have a manual, go by that. I would still keep checking level before pouring last quart in. Good luck and have a good day.
