How much would it cost to replace the engine on my husband's 2012 Nissan Sentra? It's locked up and I'm wondering if it would be worth it to replace the engine, or just get a new car
The engine locked up because the oil hasn't been changed since he purchased the car over a year ago. I don't need comments bashing him. He isn't car savvy, and was raised to take the car in when all the dashboard lights are on. So, should we get the engine replaced or just buy a new car?

This is just my opinion.
Talk to a trusted mechanic in your area, see if you can get an estimate for the engine and labor to replace engine. Also, see if mechanic will give warranty.
Talk to several shops and try to get estimates.
I did look up used 2.0L engine for your vehicle, one year warranty, almost 2 thousand dollars, and that doesn't include labor to install engine. Different shops charge different labor rates. After you get the estimates, you and your husband can decide if it is worth.
Is the vehicle body and everything in good shape?
